How To Turn Your Blog Posts Into A Video?

One of the greatest influence in the online word is the power of the written word. People, especially bloggers mostly make use of writing to convey their message to their readers. But have you ever thought of using images, or videos to do the same? Of course, a lot of people use videos and images on their blogs or websites. But how about presenting your awesome blog posts in the form of a video? Maybe not every follower of yours is following your lengthy blog posts that you share on social media, So why not try something new, and present your blog posts in a whole different way?

At this point, you might be thinking you don't have the time or maybe the know-how to create and edit a video, so why bother? Well, say hello to Wibbitz! This is a nice little tool that will help you make a video from your blog posts with little effort!

Basically, Wibbitz is a web app that will crawl your website or blog, and extract the most important information. This will then be converted into an audio and video presentation. The audio can include narrations of your latest blog posts, so that your readers can hear those updates rather than reading them.

This is a relatively unique concept, which you can make use of to better advertise your website. A video can say a lot about your website, and will get you more followers as a result of your video marketing.

Create a video for your site

Visit the Wibbitz homepage, and look at the bottom. Fill out the email and site URL fields, and click on Create Your Clip. This might take a few minutes, since it involves a lot of processing. So sit back and relax!

Once finished, you'll get an embed code for your video. In all likelihood, this is all you need. But if you want to tweak the video a little, you have the Customize Clip option below. Here, you'll get to re-size the video, put in a voice over, or put in Loop or Autoplay. You can also change the Soundtrack from among the six different options. Once you're done, simply click on Update Clip, and you're done.

This is a pretty good tool, and will create HTML 5 embed code for you, which will be accessible across multiple devices. The voice synthesizer is pretty good too, with just a slight hint of synthesized speech. The biggest hitch though, is that it can't process special characters such as the apostrophe, and hence speaks out the HTML codes for them, which sounds pretty awkward.

But overall, it's a pretty good tool, and will bring a smile on your lips if nothing else :). Share it with your followers and friends, and have fun. Cheers :)

Eid-ul-Adha 2012 Mubarak To Everyone!

Let us take the pleasure of wishing all beloved readers of MBT and SEM a Happy Eid-ul-Adha Mubarak! Wishing you a peaceful Eid on behalf of Qasim and Nida. May this Holy Occasion of EID brings Peace and joy to you and your family  and may shower on you the best of Allah's blessings. Eid-ul-adha is the second biggest joyous occasion for Muslims after Eid-ul Fitr where they share these splendid three holy days with their friends and family and forget all their past worries, and grievances.

 

More than 3 Million pilgrims performed the holy sacrifice of animals yesterday in Makah. The second day of Eid is being celebrated in Saudi Arabia, Gulf States, Europe, USA, India and Far Eastern countries today. Pakistan will celebrate its first day of Eid today as per the Islamic Hijri Calendar and more than 180 Million Muslims living here will be performing the holy sacrifice this morning  in the memory of Prophet Abraham (PBUH).

Why do Muslims Sacrifice Animals? 

Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) was being tested by God (the Merciful) for his loyalty. He was commanded by God to slaughter his son Hazrat Ismail (A.S) as obedience to the Mighty Lord. Abraham (A.S) didn't hesitate a bit and took his little boy to show the height of his Love for Allah. The moment he placed the knife on his neck, the boy was replaced with a sheep (or its kind) because what God intended was to test the inner purity of  Abraham (A.S) in obeying the commandments of the great Lord and not to harm his little boy. Since then Muslims all over the world sacrifice a Halal animal to revive the spirit of what happened that day and distribute the meat amongst the needy, poor and their loved ones. All this is done just to remind Muslims that they must obey the orders of their Lord, even if they have to sacrifice their most beloved being to Him. This Eid is therefore called "Feast of Sacrifice’"

I am honestly not good at narrating history but if you are interested in learning more about Hajj and such occasions then indeed Google is your best friend! :)

Its my third consecutive Eid with all of you and I just can't put my feelings in words. You guys mean a lot and EID is meant to be spent with friends and relatives and so am I doing as always.

Just wanted to share few surprises with all of you. Thanks to your consistent motivation and love, I finally managed to complete the following:

1. My parents can now go to Hajj the next year thanks to my small company STC Network :)
2. I will get engaged this year inshAllah! =p
3. Just last night I purchased a car alhamdulillah :)

Now you can Create RSS FEEDS For Google Plus

As you might know,  RSS Feeds are an alternative way of delivering your content to your readers. Not everyone that visited your site and liked your content will return again and again. Instead, you will have to deliver your content to them if they liked to your content, and say subscribed to your blog. They are, in fact,  subscribing for your RSS feeds. These feeds will appear in their email inbox. Additionally, you can use your RSS feed to drive content on other sites of yours, or provide content to users on  RSS readers. Feeds don't necessarily have to be from your blog. They can be from anything that's updated regularly, even your Google Plus. An engineer at Google developed a Chrome app,  Feed+, that will allow you to create RSS feeds for your Google Plus!

Creating RSS feed for Google Plus

First of all, you need to add the Feed+ app to your Chrome. Do so by using the link given above. This useful app allows you to create Google Plus feeds for  Pages as well as Profiles, hence giving you flexibility.

Once installed, open up Feed+, and it will ask you permissions to access some Google services that you are using. Accept them if you want to publish an RSS feed for your Google Plus page/profile. Now, you're set to publish your feed.

About the feed

The feed creation requires the app to be installed. But there's no processing involved on the client-side. All the feed conversions and publications happen on the cloud. You just need the Chrome app to manage the feeds, like deleting them of adding a new one. You can delete the feed from Feed+ menu. It's pretty simple!

The published feed is public, and anyone can subscribe to it, just like your regular FeedBurner feeds. Surprisingly though, FeedBurner doesn't recognize the feeds created from this service as valid, even though you can subscribe to it using any feed reader, such as Google Reader. Another problem, or rather, a short-coming of the app is, there's no option to create separate feeds for Circles. This is because Google Plus API's aren't very open-source about circles, and hence developers can't access their data.

But all-in-all, this is a great service. Once your feed is created, you can publish it to the world, and also use it to cross-share on multiple platforms automatically, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and so on.
